Save a chart as an image, a document, or a reproducible spec — from the menu or the API.
Every chart can be saved without any setup. Image exports are drawn from the same render as the screen, so titles, legends, decorations and the chart footer are all included.
| Format | Menu item | Use |
|---|---|---|
| PNG | Save as PNG | Raster image for slides and documents |
| SVG | Save as SVG | Vector image for print and further editing |
| Save as PDF | Vector document (accessible, tagged figure) | |
| JSON | Save as JSON | The reproducible data + configuration spec |
| Send the chart to the printer |
The Save as JSON export is the full self-describing figure — the same spec you pass to the constructor — so a saved chart reopens exactly as it was. To offer readers a one-click CSV of the underlying values, add a Get the data link in the chart footer. The chart’s data table (see Interactive Plots) can also be copied directly.
Because the JSON export is a published, versioned format, it can be validated and re-rendered headlessly — see the figure spec and MCP server. Every interaction is also captured in a replayable audit trail, so an exported chart carries the steps that produced it.
